Day 5 - Adjusting to the daily rituals

The daily drying of work gloves (sweat was a major issue throughout the week)

Kaska Fashion - our home....or rather the toilet facilities

Takeyama-san's home - he kindly provided us with much needed refreshments...

The brown line on the wall marks the level of the water during the tsunami...

Simon is about 195 cm tall, and would have been completely submerged
Military cargo planes were constantly flying overhead

The final touches...

The team with Takeyama-san...

A common sight - the land simply subsided under the concrete

Tools of the trade

French always have a certain style- even in work gear

Our next host was a marathon runner who had run the Melbourne marathon 15 years earlier...

On hearing Ailyn was from Melbourne he was so excited to show us photos

The finished product

You can see a picture of him, running the marathon, hanging above the door

We bumped into the food delivery team again....
